Boxing Australia Limited (BAL), the peak body for the sport in Australia, has issued a media release announcing it is supporting the World Gay Boxing Championships (WGBC). BAL will assist with the development of the boxing program, giving consideration to people new to boxing and experienced boxers enabling straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, gender diverse, intersex and non-binary people to safely participate. BAL will also provide advice on organising a safe and successful boxing championships.
We are incredibly grateful and excited about the opportunity of collaborating with BAL to increase the number of people participating in boxing. By working together we develop stronger relationships with the boxing and non-boxing community, and demonstrate that boxing and Australia is leading the way for sport to become more inclusive.
